MENOMONEE FALLS, WI (August 6, 2020) – McDermott Cue Mfg., LLC is a leading manufacturer and worldwide distributor of pool cues, high-performance shafts and billiard accessories. August marks the start of the new model year, and this month McDermott is releasing 11 new products for 2021.

Each year, the company releases a two-model line of cues with the most intricate, detailed inlays it can produce. It calls them the Cue of the Year and Cue of the Year Enhanced, the latter making liberal use of glittering abalone. The H2951, coming in at $2,950, serves as this year’s Enhanced model with 6 points of abalone, pewter, white and black urethane as well as a matching number of sleeve rings and inlays. Only 50 of these models will be produced, and each one is hand-numbered.

For 2021, McDermott ups the ante by producing not one, but two standard Cue of the Year models, the H1952 and H1951. The H1952 replaces the H2951’s abalone with Blue River Agate, while the H1951 uses turquoise. A combined maximum of 100 will be produced and, like the Enhanced version, will be hand-numbered at the factory. Each has an MSRP of $1,950.

McDermott’s innovative H-Series gets two new affordable models for 2021, the H553 and H554. The H553 features a curly maple forearm and sleeve stained in Light American Cherry, with a handle wrapped in genuine Irish linen. The H554 has a Birdseye maple forearm and sleeve stained Pacific Blue, while the handle is curly maple stained Light Grey. Both models include the H-Series’ Variable Balance Point weight system, which allows you to position the weight at any point inside the cue for your ideal balance point. The H553 has an MSRP of $545, while the H554 has an MSRP of $565.

The top end of McDermott’s American-designed, foreign-made Star line expands this year with an additional four models, the S85, S84, S83 and S82. Each model is covered in high-quality, detailed graphic overlays replicating high-end inlay materials of pearl, abalone, exotic woods and more. The S85, S84, and S83 include linen wraps, while the S82 is a no-wrap model. Each has an MSRP of $225.

Also included in the list of new products for 2021 are a padded shoulder strap ­­– perfect for McDermott’s range of cue cases – and a shorter, 6” length version of the Engage Cue Extension, which twists into place at the end of the cue in just one full turn. The strap retails for $25, while the 6” Engage Cue Extension rings up at $75.
